New BGO chairman Aad van Mullem
Boeren Goudse Oplegkaas Foundation welcomes new chairman Aad van Mullem. Aad takes over the role from Miriam Offermans, who has made a big effort till 2024 to put BGO in the spotlights. “For me it is a wonderful challenge to introduce even more cheese lovers to BGO and the beautiful craft that goes with it,” says Aad.
Aad has worked as a management consultant, interim manager and since 1998 as an entrepreneur in business services. His background is (business) economics and psychology. Aad grew up in Krimpenerwaard (South-Holland) and spent most of his youth on the farm. Cheese was made on that farm using traditional methods, including wooden barrels. Farmer’s cheese was, and still is, always available at his house.
Food has been an important theme his entire life, with a preference for local and pure. Cooking, preferably with authentic products, is one of his great passions.
Now that he has more time, he didn’t hesitate to apply when the vacancy for chairman of the BGO foundation came along. There was an immediate connection with the other board members. The visits to BGO makers, family van der Poel and family Captein, gave many associations with the past, despite the fact that the farm has been modernized a lot and it is on a different scale.
